Saddleback College to take part in the University Rover Competition!

Saddleback college is competing in this year's University Rover Competition(URC)!

The URC, to be held in May 2020, is the world's premiere international robotics competition among universities, and our students are excited to take on this challenge. Students will be building a fully autonomous rover, one capable of carrying a remote science experiment that will collect core soil samples and detect signs of life. Our goal in participating in this robotics completion is to give students hands on experience in the STEAM fields and challenge students to think about the problems that face space exploration efforts and industry today.

Students will be working directly with Solidworks microprocessors, motor controllers, computer vision, wireless communication systems, LIDAR, haptic sensors, circuit board design, 3D printers, CNCs, biological testing, spectroscopy, inverse kinematics, composite materials, and much more.
